For educators, it is essential to adapt the forms of teaching to the individual needs of children. Teaching methods must be personalized and expectations adjusted so that children are not overwhelmed or misunderstood. A child who feels supported in the classroom is more likely to develop not only academically, but also emotionally.

Emotional health is a fundamental part of the well-being of neurodivergent children. Parents and educators should watch for signs of anxiety, frustration, or stress. Often, these emotions are expressed differently in neurodivergent children, so it's vital to provide them with spaces where they can express themselves without fear of being judged.

Strategies such as the use of sensory toys, the creation of quiet spaces or the implementation of relaxing routines are very useful tools for managing the emotional or sensory overload that many of these children experience. Not only do these practices improve their well-being, but they also teach them to regulate their emotions more effectively.

Helping to serve, understand and respond

When it comes to social well-being, many neurodivergent children may struggle to relate in a conventional way. This is where parents and educators must accompany them to establish healthy relationships and interactions, mediating and helping to care, understand and respond in a reciprocal way and encouraging the enjoyment of learning from the relational experience. Organizing activities in small groups and in structured environments can help them feel more comfortable and secure in their social interactions.

The path to comprehensive well-being for neurodivergent children is full of love, understanding and dedication. Every step we take to understand their needs and promote their physical, emotional and social well-being is a step toward a brighter future for them. By taking care of their health in all its dimensions, we are building an environment where every child, with their differences, has the opportunity to shine and achieve their maximum extraordinary potential.
